Welcome to Unicorn Primary School

Everyone at Unicorn is committed to ensuring that every child within our school thrives both academically and socially. Visitors regularly comment on the vibrant, inclusive and happy environment in which our children flourish.

We aim to foster in our children a love of learning that we hope will remain with them throughout their lives. We strive to achieve this by providing a stimulating learning environment in which children are excited to learn and are given the confidence to achieve their potential.

Our team of hard working and conscientious staff all work together to ensure that each child within our care is given every support to be the best that they can be. We carefully plan a curriculum that is exciting, memorable and ignites children's curiosity to find out more. Educational days, residential trips and visitors to the school are an essential part of our children’s experience during their time with us.

Next Steps Ready - we will work collaboratively with all parties to ensure that children are ready for the next steps in their education and in their lives.

We develop strong bonds between home and school from the start, beginning with home visits and pre-school visits when children join us in reception. Parents are actively encouraged to be closely involved in their child’s education. When conditions allow, we hold regular open evenings, class assemblies and parent focus groups covering a wide range of topics. Staff, including senior leaders, make themselves available to welcome children and parents/carers on the playground each day.

As part of Compass Academy Trust, Unicorn Primary School benefits from working closely within a family of four local primary schools and has the opportunity to collaborate and share good practice whilst still retaining our individual identity and ethos.
